Alexa Doria - Class of 2024
Before Law School…
Before
beginning law school at WVU, I graduated from the University of Michigan in May
2021. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Movement Science from the School of
Kinesiology and a minor in Dance from the School of Music, Theatre & Dance.
Why WVU Law?
I wanted to find a law school where I felt a strong sense of community coupled with academic excellence. From my first conversation with a WVU admissions representative, it was immediately evident WVU focused on supporting its students. It was also clear that each staff member and professor truly cared about the school and the students. I am very happy to be a student at WVU College of Law.
Law Interest?
Currently, I have an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare law. Coming from a STEM background, I have always had a passion for science and medicine. I would find it very rewarding to be able to help people in the healthcare arena and contribute to necessary reforms.
In 10 years…
In 10 years, my goal is to be making a positive difference in the community and in the world. I was inspired to go to law school because as a lawyer, I will have the opportunity to make a real impact on people and to work to make effective change. Wherever my law degree takes me, I want to be doing impactful work.
Outside of Law School…
I have been a dancer since I was two years old. I was very involved in the performing arts throughout my entire educational career via musical productions, dance performances, competitive dance, and singing groups. I was a back-to-back Spelling Bee Champion in middle school and as a 6th grader, I finished in the top 20 in the state of Michigan. Also, I love puzzles and I love going to the movies.
