Dear Students,
Summer is going by way too fast, and the fall semester is just around the corner.
While we haven’t put COVID behind us completely, I am really looking forward to at least a partial return to normalcy up on Law School Hill. Please continue to look for emails from me, Dean Jernigan and others about COVID protocols. For now, however, the University’s policy is that only those individuals who have not been vaccinated must wear a mask. That being said, please keep a mask with you – we don’t know the health status and challenges faced by our colleagues and their family members. If you are in a small group meeting or a private office and someone asks you to wear a mask or social distance, please be respectful of that request as a matter of courtesy.
If you have concerns about this or any other issue, remember my door is always open. I intend to continue my tradition of “Coffee Friday” – but in person! I’m excited to get off of Zoom and return to my pre-COVID perch in the lobby for Coffee Friday. My table is open for any and all takers to discuss whatever might be on your mind. Sometimes we talk about class, sometimes we talk about the legal profession, sometimes we talk about superhero movies. It’s really up to you. If Coffee Friday doesn’t work for you, just shoot me an email – I’m happy to make time (even on Zoom). Please come talk to me – the feedback I get directly from you really does shape the schedule and many of the other decisions we make in the life of the College of Law.
Important Dates:
- First year orientation August 12 and 13
- Clinic orientation is August 16 and 17
- The first day of class is Wednesday, August 18

Fall semester will be upon us before we know it, but in the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer!
