"We met at a St. Patty’s party the spring of our first year," he said.
Both in the Class of 1985, Mike and Sharon started talking and discovered a shared passion for live music. As luck would have it, the Grateful Dead was scheduled to perform in Morgantown a few weeks later, so they made a date.
Before the show, over spring break, Sharon flew to Nantucket to visit her boyfriend. She returned to Morgantown "unattached and with short hair!" said Mike.
They went to the Grateful Dead concert, had a great time, and then to Wings-N-Things after. They’ve been together ever since. That summer, they drove between Parkersburg and Huntington to visit each other.
According to Mike, Sharon was the serious law student sitting in the front row while he was "more social and sat in the back row."
"I think we made a good pair in law school. She made me a better student since I couldn’t embarrass myself with her around," said Mike. "She was definitely the better student! Though by graduation, our GPAs had gotten closer."
Mike is a partner at Huntington-based Frazier Oxley, L.C. founded by his father, William M. Frazier, Class of 1954. Mike's son, Michael "Dru" Frazier is a 2015 WVU Law graduate and works with him at the firm. Sharon is retired from the Cabell County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
