Scholarships
Scholarship awards range from full tuition waivers to as little as $400. Award criteria is specific to each scholarship. Most scholarships are need based and renewable each year provided that the recipient retains the required GPA or the scholarship criteria specifically limits the term.
Completion of the FAFSA for each academic year satisfies the requirement for scholarship consideration. The FAFSA results must be received by WVU by March 1, 2008 for the 2008-09 academic year. There is no separate financial aid application at this time.
Mid March 2008 – Awarding process will begin for Class of 2011
June 2008 – Awarding process for Class of 2009 & Class of 2010 will begin

Scholarship Award Policy
Scholarships are awarded by the Scholarship Committee based on an individual review of a student’s law school application materials and financial aid report (FAFSA). Scholarships are administered within a flexible framework which seeks to implement the College of Law’s objectives of recruiting and retaining students of high academic achievement and promise.
Scholarship assistance, either as an initial grant or as an increase to an existing award, may be available for a student, in the second or third year of study, with demonstrated achievement at the College of Law.
Scholarships containing specific directions established by the donor or WVU for award or renewal are awarded by the Scholarship Committee in accordance with the requirements of the scholarship document.
Additionally, scholarship recipients are required to meet grade achievement requirements provided both in the scholarship and by WVU. If a scholarship recipient does not meet these requirements for continuation of such scholarship, the scholarship will be forfeited. However, extenuating circumstances, such as illness, will be considered by the Scholarship Committee if the student provides a written explanation of pertinent circumstances.
