2009-2010 Financial Aid Calendar
December 2008
- Apply for your Federal Student Aid PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. The PIN can be used to electronically sign your FAFSA on the Web and complete your Master Promissory Notes (MPN) for federal educational loans.
January 2009
- You can begin submitting the (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. To receive consideration for all aid programs, your FAFSA must be received by the Federal Processor by March 1, 2009.
April 2009
- WVU Law Financial Aid Office begins to send award notifications to applicants who filed by the March 1st deadline. You will receive a letter asking you to accept/decline the financial aid offers from WVU.
June 2009
- First-time Direct Loan borrowers complete:
- Online Master Promissory Note (MPN) at http://dlenote.ed.gov
- Online Entrance Counseling at www.dl.ed.gov
July 2009
- Confirm that your local mailing address on STAR system.
- Approximately one month prior to the beginning of each term, students will be notified about their account status by MIX email from the Office of Student Accounts.
August 2009
- Payment is due on Saturday before the start of the fall term August 22, 2009.
- Classes begin August 24, 2009! Welcome to WVU!
- Financial aid for fall term is released to your student account. Funds will first be applied to any WVU charges.
- If you are awarded Federal Work Study, you must pick up your Work Study Assignment at the Mountainlair Financial Aid Office within the first 21 days of classes.
January 2010
- Continuing students begin the financial aid process for 2010-2011 at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
