Tax Clinic
Welcome! Since 2000, as part of the Clinical Law Program at the West Virginia University College of Law, the Tax Clinic has been providing legal services to taxpayers residing in West Virginia in order to resolve their tax controversy with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The Tax Clinic provides information, advice, and representation on federal individual tax matters to low-income individuals. Unless closely tied to a controversy, the Tax Clinic does not assist in the preparation of current income tax returns.
To date, the Tax Clinic has represented taxpayers in a wide range of controversies with the IRS, ranging from initial notices and problems receiving refunds, to appeals, offers in compromise, and tax issues in the context of a divorce.
