Professor cummings to speak at Drug Policy Alliance in L.A., CA
Professor andré douglas pond cummings will be speaking at a conference sponsored by the Drug Policy Alliance on Friday, November 4, 2011, in Los Angeles, CA. The Drug Policy Alliance is an organization that promotes national and international drug policy based on science, compassion, health and human rights. The 2011 conference is geared toward drug policy reform and Professor cummings will present a talk entitled “A Plea for Sanity in U.S. Drug Sentencing Policy.” cummings will appear on a panel entitled “Can Hip Hop Help End the Drug War,” where he will present his innovative research in connection with hip hop culture and its impact on criminal justice and U.S. drug policy.
