Biography
Dean McConnell joined the West Virginia University College of Law faculty in 1995. She is previously served two terms as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. She teaches primarily in the area of property law, specifically first-year property, natural resources, and land-use planning. She also teaches gender and law and skills classes, such as interviewing, counseling and negotiating. Dean McConnell is a nationally recognized scholar on domestic violence and her article, Beyond Metaphor: Battered Women, Involuntary Servitude and the Thirteenth Amendment, is excerpted in DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND THE LAW: THEORY AND PRACTICE, a textbook on gender and domestic violence. more...
